ED WOOD (1994)
Comedy melodrama bio pic about an eccentric movie director, Ed Wood (Johnny Depp), who wears women’s clothing and makes terrible movies. Despite Ed Wood’s miserable failures as an artist, he changes the lives of the people around him and we see him as a moving, inspired man.
This is another movie that manages to be both hilarious and moving. It’s perhaps the finest bio pic ever made. Wonderful ensemble cast with incredible performances from Martin Landau and Johnny Depp. And this is a moving and sympathetic portrayal of sexual issues and fetishes, a subject rarely treated so beautifully in film.
