SYBIL (1976)
Melodrama horror telling the true story of the first diagnosed case of of multiple personality disorder. Multiple personalities are created to emotionally escape childhood trauma. So Sybil’s therapist knows something traumatic happened to Sybil, but she can’t solve her problem until she founds out what. And the answer is too horrible.
This is another wonderful tearjerker horror. And there is little scarier than the bizarre things the mind will do to escape emotional agony. And this story also reminds us of the tragic nature of psychological problems. They perpetuate themselves generation after generation. Sally Field is so scary as Sybil. This movie killed me.
